The J.V. Heidler Co., Inc. has its roots in a tradition dating back to 1959. Our president and CEO, Joseph V. Heidler III, grew up working with his father and grandfather in the family roofing business. Over the years, the Heidler name became synonymous in the roofing industry with trust, reliability, quality, and commitment.

Joe earned a B.S. in Construction Management and Engineering Technology, and continued to build on the experience gained in the family business. In 1981, he established his own roofing firm, Red Rose Roofing. The company rapidly gained a reputation for producing quality work in a professional manner. In 1998, Red Rose changed its name. J.V. Heidler—a new name, but the same ownership, management, and focus on quality.

In today’s culture of mergers, franchises, and impersonal corporate giants, our company remains committed to its legacy of excellence. We continue to be proud of our work and accountable to our customers. Our steady growth allows us to be large enough to get the job done, yet small enough to do it right.

President & CEO

After learning his trade in his family’s well-known roofing business, Joe went on to Spring Garden College. He earned a B.S. in Construction Management and Engineering Technology in 1980, and continued to build on his “hands-on” knowledge and experience. In 1981, he established the firm that today bears his name. In all, Joe has nearly 30 years of experience in the roofing business. He remains involved in our day-to-day activities, working not only with estimating, operations, accounting, and marketing, but also directly with customers, to ensure that company goals are met.

Mel Carlton
Chief Operating Officer

Mel has over thirty years experience in the Construction and Roofing business. He is committed is customer satisfaction and getting it right the first time. Mel not only has dedicated himself to J. V. Heidler Co., Inc. but also is actively involved in the community as well. In addition, Mel believes in lifelong learning and has earned a B. A. in Economics from the University of Virginia, a B. S. in Accounting from Lebanon Valley College and a MBA from Shenandoah University’s Byrd School of Business.

Michael Zeise
Commercial & Industrial Estimator

Michael comes to J. V. Heidler Co., Inc with a background in new construction estimating. He is focused on customer satisfaction and relationships. Michael is active in his church, enjoys spending time with his family and fishing.

Chris Mummert
Estimator

Chris is a recent graduate of Shippensburg University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Business. He has 5 years roofing experience. Chris is a dedicated and driven individual wanting to succeed and grow with J. V. Heidler Co., Inc.

Frank Caputo
Superintendent of Operations

Frank comes to J. V. Heidler Co., Inc. with over 14 years experience in the construction industry. He has experience with many different facets of commercial and residential construction, from demolition to roofing. He is a Veteran of the United States Army and he is very detail oriented. Frank is committed to upholding J. V. Heidler’s motto “the best roofer’s anywhere”
